Lab Rules
The following includes many of the lab rules and policies regarding the use of the computer labs maintained and operated by the NMSU University Computing Laboratories. If you have any question about a specific lab activity, talk to a Lab Assistant If you should have any comments about these lab rules and policies, please send us your comments.
User Rules and Policies
- You must have a valid NMSU ID in order use the equipment in the SCS labs or to check out manuals.
- Copying of software is STRICTLY prohibited, and can result in loss of privileges.
- Game playing is allowed only when the lab is not on a waiting list.
- Drinks are allowed at the computers in all the labs at both Jacobs Hall and the Computer Center Building.
- Please help keep the labs clean ---Keep your feet on the floor and clean up when finished.
- Tobacco use of any kind is prohibited in all of the labs, including bathrooms and stairwells.
- Computers in the SCS labs are for instruction & research and may not be used to view offensive or pornographic material.
- A user will be asked to leave a lab for fighting, foul language, or any other form of inappropriate behavior. If necessary, security may be called to restore order and additional disciplinary action may be taken by the University.
- All Users of the SCS Labs are also responsible to understand and follow the General ICT Guidelines and Policies
