EAF-Employee Authorization Form
EAF was developed by NMSU staff using Lotus Notes/Domino to speed up the hiring process by allowing authorized staff to route and approve employee hiring forms over the web. This EAF application received the "Process Improvement" award from the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and Barnes & Noble College Bookstores at the seventh annual Higher Education Awards Program.
SAM - Student Aid Management

SCT Plus and Banner
Financial Information Services currently maintains the Systems and Computer Technology Corporation (SCT) Plus FRS module designed to support the needs of administrators and business officers in colleges and universities in accordance with recommended financial guidelines.
SCT Banner is a fully integrated, Oracle-based, Internet-native suite of software applications designed and built specifically for higher education. Banner Admissions was implemented in December 1999. NMSU is currently implementing the Banner ERP suite of products. For more information on the Banner implementation effort, visit the project website at http://erp.nmsu.edu
STAR - Student Academic Requirements
DARwin is the GUI client server version of DARS, the degree audit reporting system developed by Miami University of Ohio in the early 1980's. DARwin provides the ability for universities to electronically encode academic requirements for degree and certificate programs and to process a student's courses against those requirements. The end result is a degree audit report where academic requirements met and yet to be met can be listed to facilitate course schedule planning. DARwin uses a DB2 database hosted on a UNIX platform to store its information and interfaces with the student record system, Vistas.
Miami University of Ohio's DARSweb product that provides advisors with web access to degree audit information was installed in Fall 2003. Discussions are underway regarding when the student web portion of this product will be available to NMSU students. The Student Academic Requirements (STAR) project committee is heading this initiative with Julie Gabriel serving as the Project Leader. For further information contact Julie at 646-6350 or jgabriel@nmsu.edu. For more information on DARWin visit DARWin at Miami University.
Student Employment System Ventana
SES Ventana is a student employment system designed by administrators in the Placement and Career Services Office and the Special Projects Department.
This web-based system enables NMSU students to register work experience, search for jobs, apply for jobs, and request an employment ineligibility waiver if necessary; university and community employers to post jobs for NMSU students, review student applicant information including work experience, and select students for hire; and administrators to manage the system for Main and Dona Ana campus SES employment.
SES Ventana was developed on a Solaris platform using J2EE technologies and the Orion application server. The data store used is DB2. SES Ventana interfaces with the Student Record System, Vistas, the Employee Authorization Forms System, EAF, and the Human Resources Management System, HRMS.
Visitor Parking e-Permits
The Visitor Parking e-Permit System was implemented in August 2002 for the NMSU Police Department. The system enables NMSU visitors the ability to obtain single-day parking permits via the web.
After providing required information a permit is available for printing purposes. The printed permit is to be displayed in the visitor's automobile and contains all the necessary validation information for NMSU parking attendants.
The system was built using Active Server Pages (ASPs) deployed on Windows 2000 running Internet Information Server (IIS).
Vistas-Student Records and SAR
The VISTAS system is the Student Information System for New Mexico State University. VISTAS was developed by NMSU to house course catalog, course schedule, student information, student registration, student academic history and degree information. Students Accounts Receivable (SAR) was developed in-house to handle student billing and student receivables. The SAR system is a sub-system of the VISTAS system and uses the VISTAS student course data to calculate student tuition and fees.

Support and Training Materials:
Production Support
Departments supporting university systems along with the ICT University Computer Center (UCC) provide production support for NMSU administrative applications. UCC maintains a monthly production schedule that lists information such as what and when major processes are running and dates and times that applications are scheduled outside of guaranteed hours. Visit Monthly Production Schedule.
Requests for jobs (i.e., programs) to be run and requests for labels for NMSU persons are a common occurrence for UCC staff. The following links provide basic request information Requesting Labels
