Respondus Download

Respondus is an application is used to create quizzes and surveys for WebCT or in-class (paper-based) delivery. Respondus provides several benefits for instructors that normally use the WebCT Quiz tool to create their quizes.

To get a copy of Respondus, go to http://ict.nmsu.edu/software/. Click the Licensed Software Download link that’s among those at the top of the page. Enter your NMSU Username and Password. Find Respondus in the list of software and click on the link to save it to your computer.
Then proceed to the following workout to install Respondus on your computer. (To get updates, click Help> Check For Update in Respondus while you are connected to the internet.)

Install Respondus 3.5 Campus Edition

  1. Double click the RespondusSetup.exe.
  2. When the security window opens click Run.
  3. Click OK on the welcome window.
  4. Save the files to the default folder \RespondusTemp2 by selecting Unzip.
  5. Click OK once the file is unzipped.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Read the license agreement and accept by clicking Yes.
  8. Accept the destination folder Respondus\Respondus2 by clicking Next.
  9. Accept the destination folder \Respondus Projects for Respondus folders by clicking Next.
    Respondus stores files in this folder. The installation begins.
  10. Install the Respondus Equation Editor by clicking Yes.
  11. Click Finish to exit the setup program.
  12. Select Respondus 3.5 Campus-Wide from the Start>Programs>Respondus menus.
    A Campus-Wide License dialog displays.
  13. In the Institution Name field, type “New Mexico State University.”
  14. In the Local Support Contact(s) field, type training@nmsu.edu.
  15. For the Installation Password, please contact ICT Training Services at training@nmsu.edu or 1.575.646.512 and the information will be provided to you.
    Note: The Installation Password is good only for a year until the license is renewed, usually in late summer. If the password above has expired, contact training@nmsu.edu to get the latest password.
  16. Click the License button.
    A Choose CMS Personality dialog displays. This dialog allows you to select one of the platforms with which this version of Respondus is compatible.
  17. Use the drop-down list to select WebCT CE 4.x. Then click the OK button.
    Respondus 3.5 successfully installs and opens to the Start menu.
  18. Update to the most recent version. In the Respondus menu bar click Help > Check for Update.
  19. If a software update is available, click the Get Update button to download and install the most recent version of Respondus. Once the update has been downloaded, you will need to close Respondus for the installation to be completed.
