- Frequently Asked Questions
There are two areas for students to access NMSU e-mail. The first area is through the myNMSU portal. This is a secure site that provides NMSU students, faculty, and administrative staff with Intranet services. Using your NMSU ID and password you can check e-mail, maintain your calendar, view your pay stubs and get the latest campus updates.
The second area to view e-mail is through WebCT. When a student is registered for a WebCT course he/she will have a separate e-mail account specifically designed to e-mail the instructor and other students in the course. It is important for students in a WebCT course to check this e-mail frequently in case the instructor has changed an assignment or a due date.

E-portfolio
E-portfolio is a digital portfolio tool that was developed so that students could use a simple Web interface to create a custom portfolio highlighting their school work, career interests, and videotaped interviews or examples of teaching. This tool has been an effective way to demonstrate skills and strengths during interviews or in competition for internships.

myNMSU
The myNMSU portal is a secure site that provides NMSU students with Web-based self-service tools. Using your NMSU ID and password you can check e-mail, maintain your calendar, view your pay stubs and get the latest campus updates. These services are designed to keep you informed with NMSU events and announcements as well as providing personal services such as e-mail and a calendar. The myNMSU portal is different from www.nmsu.edu because it houses your personal information and can only be accessed by logging in with your myNMSU ID and password. The NMSU main page ( www.nmsu.edu ) gives you access to a specific college, other NMSU departments, financial aid services, student services and a variety of other options.
