Technologies
NMSU strives to introduce technologies and combine technology resources to produce desired products, to solve problems, fulfill needs, or satisfy wants. The follow are only a select few of the numerous technologies that are or will be used by students on campus.
Clickers
Clickers, also known as CPS or eInstruction response pads, are handheld radio-frequency transmitters that allow students to participate in class by voting. Instructors may use clickers to ask the class a question or take attendance. This information is transmitted to the instructor and may be used for class discussion or the results may be graded like a quiz.
Your instructor will inform you if a clicker is required for class. If needed, you can purchase the clicker from the NMSU Bookstore.
Flash Drives
A flash drive is a portable memory card that plugs into a computer's USB port. Flash drives are available at local stores, online and at the NMSU Bookstore.

Headsets with Microphone
Headsets may be used in Centra sessions as well as other activities. Headsets can be purchased from local retails, online and at the NMSU Bookstore.

iTunes U
iTunes U is a Web-based service provided by Apple where you can download class lecutues and other instructional content from NMSU and other universities.
Podcasting
Podcasting is a way of distributing multimedia files, such as audio programs or music videos over the Internet. Audio programs and music can then be played back on iPods and personal computers.

Webcams
A webcam is a digital camera that produces live digital images that can be viewed via the Internet. Webcams come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and capabilities and can be purchased at local retailers, online and at the NMSU Bookstore.
