User ID The first idea that you should be comfortable with is your User ID. When you log into a UNIX server at NMSU (either verdi, paris, hector or dante), you enter some permutation of your first and last name and a password. This permutation is referred to as a User ID. For example, if John Smith had an account on the machines, his User ID might be johsmith. |
