Computer Account Policy
Purpose of this Policy: This policy outlines the eligibility requirements and costs associated with the four different kinds of accounts that ICT provides. It also lists services associated with those accounts.
NMSU ICT provides network services and access to computer and network resources.
Issuance of an account by ICT includes the following:
- Internet Access
- Dial up access
- Web Publishing
- Telnet, SSH and FTP access
- 200 MB of disk space
- Webmail
- NMSU labs
- NMSU Learning Management System
- Student Employment System(SES)
- Degree Audit Reporting System(Star degree Audit)
Standard accounts are assigned to an individual student or employee and, as a courtesy, remain active for one year after the individual is no longer affiliated with NMSU.
Departmental accounts are assigned to a single department
Every department is eligible to receive one free account per year. Additional departmental accounts are available at $60 per year. Departmental accounts must be renewed annually.
Chartered Student Organizations:
Chartered Student Organization accounts are assigned each NMSU Chartered Student Organization. The Organization must retain its charter or the account will be suspended. Additional accounts are available for $60 per year.
Retirees:
Accounts are assigned to retirees. Retirees must renew their accounts annually. Additional accounts are available at $60 per year.
