NMSU official e-mail address

Purpose of this policy:
This policy aims to ensure that a valid NMSU email address is assigned to each student, faculty and staff, in order to make e-mail a viable communication medium at NMSU and hopefully minimize the use of paper communication.
Policy Statement
The official email address for NMSU students, faculty and staff shall be their <NMSU Username>@nmsu.edu. This address shall be populated as the person’s official email address in their electronic records and will be marked as the preferred address for official communication. If desired the person may choose to forward emails from this address to an address of their choosing by changing their email settings.
The official e-mail address (ending in @nmsu.edu) for all employees is required to be displayed on the official NMSU phonebook.
