Distribution of Information to NMSU Employees and Students

All employees and students of the University should be able to access information in a timely manner, and it is the responsibility of the University to send information efficiently to our employees and students.

All official mass communications will be sent via the University's email system. Official mass communications are memoranda or documents that are distributed to wide audiences, such as departments, colleges or all employees. Email communications also may reference information posted on the NMSU website or within the my.nmsu.edu portal.  Directors, supervisors and managers are responsible for insuring that all employees who do not access email regularly are provided this information through postings and distribution of the information in whatever means possible to reach each employee.

Personal communications should be sent through email whenever possible. However, secure or confidential information, such as social security numbers, should never be sent through email.

All employees that use email must maintain their preferred email address in their Personal Information section under their Employee Tab at my.nmsu.edu.

The @nmsu.edu will be used to distribute all official university email messages.
All employees must have their email address listed in the university directory.
