3. Enter your user Name: For example, jdoe - Not jdoe@nmsu.edu

4. Enter your Password:

5. Number: enter (if on campus) 6-4942 or (if off campus) 646-4942 (note: if you're living in campus housing, the number would be 8646-4942)

6. Click on options to confirm your settings:

7. Note: for Premium Dial-Up (Available through Telecommunications, 646-1840), the numbers are as follows:
Off campus 56k flex: 647-8694
Off campus v.90: 647-8695
On-campus v.90: 646-2500

Troubleshooting:
"No Dial Tone" - Check the phone number in the Remote Access control panel. Make sure it is only 7 digits, with the exception of the "8" when on campus. Also, make sure you have a working phone cord connecting the computer's phone outlet to a jack in the wall.

"Authentication Failed" - Make sure you are using your current NMSU username and password - the same as you would for email (e.g., "jsmith" "password")

You can connect, but can't access websites or email - check the name servers in the TCP/IP control panel, making sure they are a series of four numbers seperated by periods.
