The Internet and web at NMSU allows you to connect on and off campus, offering services such as Web publishing, Web mail from various campus workstations.
Centra can be used by NMSU students and faculty to conduct "live" or synchronous class room events online.

NMSU Computing labs are located in many buildings on campus. NMSU students, staff or faculty can login to any computer by using a combination of the NMSU global login ID and student number to access the NMSU network and the Internet.

DARS (Star Degree Audit)
DARS, the degree audit reporting system developed by Miami University of Ohio in the early 1980's. DARS provides the ability for universities to electronically encode academic requirements for degree and certificate programs and to process a student's courses against those requirements. The end result is a degree audit report where academic requirements met and yet to be met can be listed to facilitate course schedule planning. DARwin (GUI client server version) uses a DB2 database hosted on a UNIX platform to store its information and interfaces with the student record system, Vistas.

ICT provides IP-address management services for the IP's in use at the University, including DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) assignments. DHCP registration is accessible with your NMSU ID number and six digit pin.
Free dial-up access to the NMSU network and the Internet is available to any student, staff or faculty member with a modem.

Premium dial-up service is designed for faculty, staff and students that live in the Las Cruces area and want a high-speed connection directly to the NMSU-Net. An NMSU email address is required. $15.00 per Month Up to 300 hours of Usage per Month Up to 56K Connections.
ICT provides hosting services for nmsu.edu, nmsu.org and other custom domains related to official NMSU activities.
NMSU e-mail accounts are housed on serveral platforms, including myNMSU.nmsu.edu. The helpdesk (646-1840 or help@nmsu.edu can assist students and staff in navigating NMSU's e-mail environment.

"Internet Native Banner" is a client/server interface for administrative users of Banner, a collection of central administrative systems and data at NMSU. These systems encompass Human Resources, Finance, and Student information and Financial Aid. Banner is a product of SCT.

NMSU Aggie Wireless Zones provide wireless access to the NMSU Network and the Internet. Locations include the Corbett Center, Computing Center (ICT), O'Donell Hall, Zuhl Library, and Garcia Hall.

Personal Web Publishing at NMSU
NMSU students and affiliates can automatically create a personal directory on an NMSU web server for basic web publishing.
Creating this six digit number allows NMSU students to access a number of online services, including Financial aid, DHCP registration, student information, and more. A PIN can be created by visiting myNMSU and logging in with your Student ID number and date of birth.

Enterprise Web Services provides consulting and assistance for NMSU departmental, college and affiliate web sites in areas including HTML, CGI, design, graphics and accessibility.
Web publishers at NMSU are responsible for the content of the pages they publish and are required to comply with NMSU web policy.
WebCT is course management software that enables campus faculty and instructors to incorporate the Internet into delivery of a course. Some of the more common features include a chat room, bulletin board, private mail, access to grades, online quizzes, a calendar, and student presentations.
