Computing and network access is available to students, faculty and staff both on and off campus. High-speed Internet access is available in computer labs and dorm rooms, and several buildings on campus support wireless access. Dial-up internet access is available for off campus students, faculty and staff.

- ICT Network Operations Center (NOC) provides DNS services for all devices connected to NMSU-net and assigns host names and corresponding IP addresses. THe DNS database allows IP addresses like 128.123.3.4 to be translated into host names such as www.nmsu.edu.

- The University participates in New Mexico's Higher Education Intranet which provides high speed connections to the Internet and Internet2.

- NMSU is a member of Internet2, a consortium of universities working in partnership with industry and government to develop and deploy network applications and technologies.
