Lab Rules
The computer labs maintained by Information & Communication Technologies are operated under rules and policies that asure all users are treated with respect and are in turn respectful of others. Below are some of the rules and policies that govern the operation of the computer labs. For further assistance, you may call the PC Customer Service Center at (575) 646-4209.
User Rules and Policies
- Users must have a valid NMSU ID card and if asked, they must be prepared to present it.
- Copying software is strictly prohibited. A violation of this rule may result in a loss of privileges.
- Computers may be used for leisure activities (games, surfing, blogging, email, etc.) only if the lab is not on a waiting list.
- Unless otherwise posted, food and drink are allowed in the computer labs.
- Users are obligated to keep their work area clean.
- Smoking is not allowed.
- Lab patrons may be asked to leave the lab for fighting, offensive language and/or unruly behavior. If necessary, security will be called. This action may result in loss of lab privileges and disciplinary action by the University.
- Student Computing Services lab users are responsible for knowing and following the General Computing ICT Policy Statement.
