1) What public access for computing is available to students? Examples include computing labs, cyber cafés, residence hall computers, and wireless access?
All students registered at New Mexico State University are allowed access to all computer labs within the university supported by the ICT department. A 24x7 lab is available during the main semester and most of the other labs have extended hours. Hours of operation for all of the computer labs are posted at ICT website . Most computer labs at New Mexico State University have laptop docking stations. Wireless zones are located throughout campus for student convenience. More information on the locations of the various wireless access locations is available at http://ict.nmsu.edu/wireless/ . The residence halls are equipped with high speed Internet access as well.

Yes, New Mexico State University provides institutional email accounts for all students. When a student registers at the university for the first time, an email account is available for the student to activate. NMSU allows the use of un-moderated email lists for students. Many instructors also provide a "social" discussion area within their courses.
