Podcasting 101: The Basics

In this workshop, you will learn what a podcast is, how podcasts are being used in university classrooms, and how you can create your own podcasts and easily publish them using NMSU's latest technology tool, iTunesU.

Podcasting 201: Audio Podcasts

Instructor: Melissa Brown

In this workshop, you will learn how to create an audio podcast in three stages: planning, production, and publication to iTunesU. An iPod will be provided for this workshop.

Podcasting 210: Video Podcasts

In this workshop, you will learn how to create a video podcast in three stages: planning, production, and publication to iTunesU. You will learn about the different types of video podcasting possibilities such as video clips and demonstrations, PowerPoint slide conversions, and image slide shows. iPods will be used in this workshop.

Podcasting 301: Teaching Strategies

Fully integrating podcasting into your teaching and learning strategies takes practice. In this workshop you will learn some tips and tricks for scripting out your podcasting sessions and creating materials and activities in support of your students' learning.

Podcasting 310: Beyond the Basics

Instructor: Barbara Chamberlin

In this closing session, we review our experiences in the management and time commitment to developing podcasts, particularly recurring episodes; you will learn how to post your audio and video podcasts to iTunesU; learn specifics in promoting and advertising your materials; and learn tips on branding your materials and giving them more polished finish.
