- Working offline - Respondus allows you to create assessments in an offline environment, be that at school, at home, or on the road.
- Importing existing exams – Blackboard CE 6 will import questions if they are in a spreadsheet (ie. database), but few instructors have materials in that format. Respondus allows instructors to import questions from a Word document. This alone can save instructors countless hours on each assessment since they don't have to retype their exams in Blackboard or copy-and-paste questions line by line. One of our demo movies illustrates this feature.
- Images & Media - Respondus allows instructors to easily integrate images and media files into questions, without having to know HTML.
- Respondus allows you to retrieve (ie. download) a complete exam from Blackboard and retain the question order, point values, question sets, etc.. The exam can then be edited and then published to another Blackboard course. Moving a complete exam from one Bb course to another isn't this seamless in Blackboard, unless you copy the entire course.
- Hundreds of test banks from the leading textbooks in higher education are available in Respondus format. These are available for free to instructors who adopt the textbook. Selecting questions from Respondus-formatted test banks is _much_ easier than trying to select them from "course cartridges" -- it also eliminates the cost.
