Technologies
NMSU strives to introduce technologies and combine technology resources to produce desired products, to solve problems, fulfill needs, or satisfy wants. The follow are only a select few of the numerous technologies that are or will be used by students on campus.
Clickers
Clickers, also known as CPS or e-Instruction response pads, are handheld radio-frequency transmitters that allow students to participate in class by voting. Instructors may use clickers to ask the class a question or take attendance. This information is transmitted to the instructor and may be used for class discussion or the results may be graded like a quiz.
Your instructor will inform you if a clicker is required for class. If needed, you can purchase the clicker from the NMSU Bookstore.

iTunes University
iTunes University was an idea implemented at Duke University in Durham, N.C., where every incoming freshmen was given their own 20-gigabyte iPod. The idea was to change the way college students took notes, participated in class, and listened to lectures. Instructors at Duke University were able to upload class assignments, readings, audio files, and other material to a secure server where the students could access the information and download it to their iPods. This gave the students the opportunity to download an important lecture and take it with them to listen at a later date. Please visit iTunes U to read some of the positive concepts and ideas surrounding the use of iPods as educational tools.
