Training Materials/Site License Information

Training materials in WebCT and related technologies are available for purchase. All of these materials come with CD's containing the files referenced during the workshop, including course templates where applicable. Manuals available include:

WebCT Basics Manuals

Designing a WebCT Course - This manual covers what it takes to get started at WebCT, including setting up a course, and adding course materials.

Administering a WebCT Course - This manual covers the basics of setting up a gradebook, and administering your course.

Communicating in WebCT - This workshop covers the basics of using the Discussions Tool, e-mail and the Chat Tool in WebCT.

Intermediate/Advanced Training Manuals

The WebCT Quiz/Survey Tool - Manual covering use of the Quiz/Survey tool. Includes uploading questions into the quiz database, creating the five types of questions within WebCT, building a quiz, making the settings, the grading process, and quiz administration. Introduces third-party software tools (Respondus) that can be used to convert an existing quiz bank to a format that can be uploaded into WebCT Designed for a half-day workshop.

Respondus Workshop - Manual covering the use of Respondus. Respondus is a third party software that facilitates easy creation of quizzes and survey for use in WebCT. Also cover how to convert an existing quiz bank to a format that can be uploaded into WebCT Three-hour workshop.

Web Materials - Two manuals covering the use of software designed to prepare materials for the Web. Topics are HTML conversion with MS Word, PowerPoint Conversion, PDF creation using Adobe Acrobat, and image and screen capture using Hypersnap.

Purchase Options:

• Individual manuals - Manual pages are printed on both sides, spiral bound. Order as many as you need.
• Site license- We supply electronic copies (prepared in MS Word) of materials. You take these copies and adapt the materials to fit your training environment. You have permission to copy and distribute as many as you need. See terms at the bottom of this page.

Terms: The site license agreement provides your school with copies of all files used for the manual, permission to amend the materials as needed for your own training purposes, and permission to make and distribute as many copies as are needed for your own use. NMSU asks that the manual title be retained and that its ownership of the materials acknowledged. Your school may not distribute these manuals to anyone other than your own faculty and staff or to those participating in a training workshop given by you. NMSU retains ownership of the manual and the materials associated with it.
